We are excited to announce that Prana Tula Yoga Studio has opened inside Suite 1 of our newly renovated 245 Hubbard Street property! Located downtown Allegan, Michigan, this beautiful space overlooks the riverfront plaza, has convenient parking nearby, and is easily walkable to other popular downtown businesses and attractions.

Choosing the Space

When searching for their very own space to fulfill the dream of opening a yoga studio, once co-owners Hanna Brynn and Shane Coopmans saw the wide, open space, tall ceiling, and great view this suite at 245 Hubbard offered, they decided to act fast and dive right in.

I’ve envisioned a yoga studio downtown since I moved to Allegan four years ago. Once I saw the space I was concerned someone else would grab it up before we did. I’m spontaneous and felt like now is the right time. Michelle Liggett was worked with me very quickly to get the paperwork completed and made the whole process super easy.

Yoga Discovery and Training

Hanna discovered yoga at around 12 years old because she and her mom would record Denise Austin workout videos on television and do them together when she got out of school. Years later she began following Yoga with Adriene on YouTube and became hooked. During this time she experienced how yoga was able to help her grow and bring her out of a dark place.

Since then, Hanna received her yoga training from Good Karma Yoga in Novi, Michigan where she lived for a few years. In addition, she is registered with the Yoga Alliance, and holds an ACE certification. In addition to teaching yoga classes, Hanna is a personal trainer, health coach, and corrective exercise specialist, as well as currently studying for her Orthopedic Exercise Specialist certification.

As a teacher, Hanna enjoys connecting with students and the freedom to be creative and customize each class based on the energy of each person that she’s feeling at that time. “Some days, people need quiet time. Other times, I can tell that someone really needs to move. I enjoy guiding my students, spreading awareness, and giving them assurance that they are doing the best they can.”

Hanna explained that yoga’s many benefits include a mind-body connection, helping us understand our thoughts, live in the present, and release heavy things that we no longer need. She said that often people think of yoga as a stretching class, but it’s so much more. She explained that in addition to benefits for digestion, the lymphatic system, and the respiratory system when practicing mindful yoga and thinking about how you move your body, you have better balance and become very strong.
